I am trying to set up a transactional replication between SQL2005 as publisher and SQL2008 as subscriber. It is in different domains .We can use only ftp to communicate.we create 2005 as ftpserver. Can you please give me the step to setup tranRepl using ftp and what are the setting need to be done…

You can only be able to transfer snapshot to subscriber using FTP is there is no connection from distributor to subscriber.

To setup transactional replication require connection to subscriber from distributor database.

You can use web syncronization with Merge Replication
